BALLOON & MUSIC FESTIVAL

2007 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series
July, 2007
Point Mallard Park, Decatur, AL
Semi-final round in the series featuring the top 16 lumberjacks and 10 of the world's best speed climbers and femal boom runners. Fans will witness six different disciplines, including the Single Buck, Stock and Hot Saw, Underhand, and Standing and Springboard Chops, along with speed climbing and boom running events. SPIRIT OF AMERICA FESTIVAL
July 3 & 4, 2007 (Annual Event)

Independence Day Celebration featuring the Miss Point Mallard Pageant, presentation of the Audie Murphy Patriotism Award and other freedom awards, day long activities for children and a huge fireworks display the night of the fourth. No admission charged.

BATTLE FOR DECATUR CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT
Labor Day Weekend

Point Mallard Park, Decatur, AL
Re-Enactment featuring more than 200 authentically clad Union and Confederate soldiers in mock battles at 2:00 p.m. each day. A candlelight tour of the camp is on Saturday evening. No admission charged.

RIVERFEST
September, 2007 (Annual Event)
Founders Park at the Old State Bank and the Riverwalk at Ingall's Harbor, Decatur, AL. Festival featuring the Alabama State Barbeque Cookoff Championship, children's activities and live musical entertainment. Admission: Free for children 5 and under; $3.00 per person until 4:00 pm. After 4:00 pm, admission will be $5 for children 12 and under / $10.00 per person 13 and older. Weekend passes (armbands) will be available for $15.00.


RACKING HORSE WORLD CELEBRATION
September, 2007 (Annual Event)
Celebration Arena, Hwy 67 East, Decatur, AL
Largest Racking Horse Show in US . Horses compete in more than 140 classes for children and adults, amateur and professional categories with the crowning of the best in each category. The celebration ends with the naming of the World Champion. Shows are nightly at 6:30 p.m. Admission charged.


HARTSELLE DEPOT DAYS

ALABAMA CHARITY HORSE SHOW

Horse Show benefiting The Alabama Children’s Hospital. This show draws over 600 horses competing in different classes for prizes and honors. Admission charged.


SOUTHERN WILDLIFE FESTIVAL

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE AND TASTE OF HARTSELLE
First Sunday in November (Annual Event)
Stores throughout Hartselle open thier doors offering refeshments, sales and special deals for shoppers. Carolers stroll the streets and bells ring in front of the depot as the holiday season officially begins in Hartselle. While at the historic depot stop in for a Taste of Hartselle from 2-5 p.m. Local restaurants serve bite sized portions of food for everyone to taste and enjoy.


CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES
December, 2007 (Annual Event)
Albany and Old Decatur Historic Districts, Decatur, AL
Decatur’s historic districts are decorated with luminaries, greenery and thousands of lights and several homes are open for tours. Refreshments are served and carriage rides are available. The tour is from 4 – 8 p.m. Admission charged.
