Fulia: Fulia has a very prominent place in the history of Bengali Literature because it is the place of birth of Krittibas, who first translated the epic, Ramayana, from .Sanskrit to Bengali in verses. It is 26 km from Krishnanagar by bus via Shantipur. By train from Calcutta, Fulia is 92 km. National Highway No 34 passes through this town. Krittibas was born here in 1440. His residence is now converted into a library and information centre. Adjacent to this there is Gofa, the place of worship of Thakur Hari-das. There is a very old banyan tree, sitting under which, it is said, Krittibas the poet, had translated the Ramayana into Bengali. The river Ganges flows close to this town. Apart from this, Fulia is famous for Tangail sari, very popular among the Bengali womenfolk. It is better for the visitors to visit Krishnanagar, Bethuadahari, Nabadwip, Mayapur, Fulia at a stretch by halting at Krishnanagar.
