Fullara : Fullara is just 50 km from Bolpur connected with frequent bus services via Nanur/ Kirnahar. Otherwise from Ahmod-pur railway station, Fullara can be reached via Ahmodpur-Katwa line within half an hour. Fullara is also connected with Katwa, Sainthia and Suri. The legend is that, the lip of Sati fell at Fullara. There is an old temple built in 1895. There is no idol of Goddess inside the temple. Instead there is a piece of tortoise-shaped stone which is worshipped by the devotees. In the full moon day in the month of Magh (January), a fair is organised every year. A big tank (pond) is there beside the temple. Hearsay is that, when Ramchan-dra was advised to worship Goddess Durga with 108 blue lotuses, his lieutenant Hanu-man collected 108 blue lotuses from this pond only. It is also said that the Ashram (School) of the Saint Durbasa was situated at Dubso Gopalpur which is 3 km away. One of the most popular novelists in Bengali Literature, Tarasankar Bandopadhyay was born in Labhpur which is nearby. For staying here one may contact the Labhpur Guest House. There is a temple of Dharma in the nearby village, Bele. People affected by arthritis come to this village to take bath in the pond, adjacent to the temple and then apply massage oil having divine curative power.
