Tour Planning and Bicycling Maps

Touring on a bicycle

Send us your photos!
We want photos and stories of your bike tour that went through or originated from Washington State.

We think Washington is the best state for bicycle touring in the country. Whether you are planning a day trip to the coast, a tour in the San Juan Islands, or a longer excursion through the vineyards of the Yakima Valley, Washington has some of the most scenic bike rides and best accommodations in the country.

Here are resources to help you plan your cycling trip including lodging, cycling organizations, bike shops and maps. Here's an inspiring bike touring story, complete with lessons learned, of a trip from Ballard to Spokane. We have also included a list of reading materials to help you make the most of your trip.

WSDOT receives many requests for information about touring on the Pacific Coast Highway or State Route 101. See National Scenic Byways for additional information about this route.
