Mayor Edward "Eddie" J. Price III graduated from JesuitHigh School and TulaneUniversity in New Orleans. After graduation he moved to Mandeville where he has resided for 30 years. He is married to Sally Levee Price and together they have five children ‑ Shawn, Sarah, Shannon, Eddie and Samantha.
Eddie Price was first elected in 1980 to an at‑large seat on the City Council. He was re‑elected in 1984, 1988 and 1992, completing four terms respectively without opposition. In May, 1996, he was elected mayor and re-elected for two consecutive terms in 2000 and 2004.
Mayor Price is a board member of the American Public Works Association (APWA). In the past he has served as president and vice president of the St. Tammany Parish Municipal Association, Chairman of the St. Tammany Parish Republican Party (PAC) for two terms, a member of the Parish Executive Committee (PEC) and a board member of the St. Tammany Homebuilder's Association.
Throughout the years, Mayor Price has been greatly involved with the youth of our city. He is past president of Mandeville Youth Sports (MYS) for two terms, a past board member for six years and past president of Mandeville Kindergarten PTA. He has participated in Mandeville Project Graduation, as well as being a youth coach and a deacon with TrinityEvangelicalChurch. Mayor Price provides an open door policy for both citizens and city employees alike. He is strong in support of the city's Police Department and efficient government management.He is committed to providing the best possible infrastructure for our citizens as demonstrated throughout the Public Works Department. He believes that planned and managed growth will ensure the protection of quality of life issues we face every day. Mayor Price's philosophy is best expressed in his own words: "A community that fails to plan, plans to fail."
