Aggie Band

The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band is nationally known for its precision military marching formations on the football gridiron and is the largest military marching band in the nation.  This 300+ member, Corps of Cadets unit is the official football band of Texas A&M University.  Performing at all home football games and several away games, this organization is one of the most traveled collegiate marching bands in the nation.  Led by members of the senior class, the Aggie Band is organized into Artillery and Infantry Bands and operates under strict military guidelines as an integral part of the Corps of Cadets.

Wind Symphony

WindsTexas A&M Wind Symphony

This 65 member ensemble represents the finest wind and percussion players on the TAMU campus. The literature performed ranges from works of the 16th century to the most recent original compositions for full band.

Symphonic

ConductingSymphonic Band

This 70-member ensemble is representative of outstanding wind and percussion players on the TAMU campus. Literature performed by the Symphonic Band is chosen from selected traditional and contemporary band works. The Symphonic Band performs two concerts per semester and participates in recording sessions each semester.

 

Concert

This vibrant concert ensemble is open to all students on the TAMU College Station Campus. It serves as a vehicle for members to continue their musical experience in the college setting.

Jazz

JazzTexas A&M Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensembles are open to all band students with small combo or big band jazz playing experience. Depending on course selection, the jazz ensembles rehearse two or three times per week during the academic day and students receive one elective credit hour for participation.

Aggie Band Then and NowThe Bands at Texas A&M University include the nationally famous "Fightin' Texas Aggie Band", Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Bands, and Aggieland Dance Orchestra. The band program involves over 700 students each semester. The bands participate in a wide variety of performances including athletic events, formal concerts, informal concerts, parades, gatherings and ceremonies. Performance venues span 80,000+ seat stadiums, concert halls, national and state music conventions, European cathedrals and auditoriums, small recital spaces, Presidential Inaugural Parade Routes and others.

Students from every department and major at A&M are welcome and involved in the A&M Bands. Membership in each of the bands requires prior band experience. Audition requirements range from quite low pressure to very competitive depending on the ensemble. Game Day Activities 

  • Spirit Walk:  each home game, 3 hours prior to kick-off - Houston Street
  • March-In:  Each home game 1 and 1/2 hours prior to kick-off, march to the stadium from the "Quad".
  • Half Time Performance: each home game
