CTR Symposium

UT’s Center for Transportation Research hosted its annual symposium on April 4, 2007. The theme of this year’s symposium was “Smart Highways.” The keynote speaker addressed a subject close to every commuter’s heart: highway construction costs, particularly recent developments and the outlook. CTR researchers addressed other topics that affect our daily driving experience, usually without our even knowing it. Such topics included ways to increase safety for motorists and bicyclists sharing the road, automated project development scheduling, ITS investments, automated inspections of pavement surface distress, and performance-based specifications.
