Poets in the Park
March 19 and 20, 2005, Redmond Washington

Important Note: Online and snail mail registration is now closed, but you may still register in-person at the Clise Mansion. Thank you.

The Poets in the Park poetry conference returns again this year with Wanda Coleman as our featured poet, plus expanded workshop options and presentations, new facilitated peer critique sessions, and more. Retreat to historic Clise Mansion in King County’s largest regional park to immerse yourself in the form and content of poetry. Aspiring and accomplished poets alike will gather to share inspiration and advice for improving their work. Here’s what’s in store:

  • Meet featured presenters, including nationally renowned poets Wanda Coleman, Madeline DeFrees, Peter Levitt, Carolyne L. Wright, Elizabeth Austen, Bart Baxter, Tara Hardy, Paul Nelson, Susan Rich, Mary Lou Sanelli, and more
  • Participate in master poetry workshops from leading poets and teachers
  • Hear critiques and discussion of your work
  • Attend question-and-answer sessions on the art of performing your poetry
  • Share your own poetry in open readings--including the "Instant Feature" readings!
  • Buy and sell books at the poetry book fair (author signings, too)
  • Because you asked, we’ll have more break time for socializing and to peruse the bookfair
  • Plus, celebrate poetry at our Saturday evening featured reading and “die-hard” late-night open-mic!

DISCOUNT: $20 off the regular registration rate of $79.00 has been extended until March 11, 2005, for members of various Washington-state poetry organizations! Register early to ensure your your participation (space is limited).

Sponsored by the Redmond Association of Spokenword (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), with generous assistance from Breneman Jaech Foundation, Friends of Marymoor Park, Residence Inn Redmond, FedExKinko's and Parkplace Books.
