UNTIL 6 PM EDT.  IN ADDITION TORNADO WATCHES ARE ALSO IN EFFECT
UNTIL 8PM EDT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA AND
SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA.  

AT 5 PM EDT...21Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION GASTON WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 36.7 NORTH LONGITUDE 77.1 WEST OR 10 MILES
TO THE WEST OF FRANKLIN VIRGINIA. GASTON HAS BEEN MOVING
NORTHEASTWARD AT ABOUT 14 MPH. THIS GENERAL TREND IS EXPECTED TO
CONTINUE THIS EVENING WITH GASTON EXPECTED TO MOVE OFFSHORE INTO
THE ATLANTIC OCEAN TONIGHT. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 30
