Cougar First Impressions is sponsored by Staff Council
and offers students a chance to receive campus maps, directions
to class and bottled water from UH staff
members stationed at 19 campus locations during the
first two days of the Fall semester. The tenth annual CFI event will take place August 20-21, 2007, and is made possible by generous contributions without student fees.
CFI NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS:
>> 2007 CFI "Cool to be a Cougar": The tenth annual CFI event will take place Monday and Tuesday, August 20-21, 2007, the first two days of the Fall 2007 semester. To commemorate this anniversary, the CFI Planning Committee is meeting to expand the event and make it the biggest and best yet. Everyone is welcome to participate on the Planning Committee and lend their ideas. The final meeting before the event will take place Wednesday, August 8, 2-3:30 p.m., Room 106T in the M.D. Anderson Library. The CFI Training Session will take place Wednesday, August 15, 2-3:30 p.m., in the M. D. Anderson Library's Rockwell Pavilion. See the volunteer page to find out where and when you can volunteer and to sign up for your shifts. The T-shirt order has been placed, but we'll have extras and we should have one in your size. Table Host organizers can submit their volunteer and T-shirt information online with the Table Host page.
Attention CFI Volunteers: The volunteer schedule for Monday, August 20, and Tuesday, August 21, has been posted. Download PDFs of the schedule by table and the schedule by volunteer name. Schedules updated August 16, 2007. Please check to make sure your shift locations haven't changed.
If you were unable to attend the CFI volunteer training session on August 15, you can download a PDF of the training presentation. If you still need to pick up your T-shirt, they will be available at the Cullen Performance Hall loading dock Friday afternoon, August 17, 3-5:30 p.m., and during the event on August 20-21.
Your department can also contribute to the success of CFI 2007 by donating materials that students can pick up at each of the tables around campus. Materials should be divided into 18 bundles for the CFI tables and brought to the Cullen Performance Hall loading dock Friday afternoon, August 17, between 3 and 5:30 p.m.

Impressions 2006 was held Monday and Tuesday, August 21-22, the first two days of the Fall semester. Big thanks go out to over 500 staff members and others who volunteered at 19 locations across campus between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days. This year's event was one of the most successful, with 17,426 student questions answered and 21,408 bottles of water (the most ever!) distributed to grateful students. Additionally, 38 parking applications were collected and students picked up thousands of informative brochures, maps, pens, calendars and other useful items provided by departments across campus.
