ALCOHOL SERVICE SUSPENDED FOR THREE CONCERTS
[October 24, 2005] The charges of "a person consuming a controlled substance and removal of alcohol from the premises" took place during a Metallica concert.
"We're disappointed with the suspension and the impact that this decision will have on our concert fans that choose to consume alcohol at our events," said Bob Hunter, executive vice-president and general manager of Air Canada Centre. "Each year, Air Canada Centre hosts more than 250 events and three million patrons and for a venue of this caliber, our compliance record is very respectable. We take these incidents very seriously and have implemented new measures to ensure that we have the staff, training and resources to meet all regulations and our own objective of a perfect compliance record and a safe and fan friendly facility. Since the Metallica concert, we've hosted close to 35 concerts and have been recognized by the AGCO and Toronto Police for our compliance record."
Suspension dates and events affected will be announced shortly. |
