HRT Proposes Universal Shuttle - Virginia Beach Approves Program

July 17th, 2007
On July 17, 2007 the City of Virginia Beach approved HRT's proposal to replace its existing fleet of trolleys with a fleet of hybrid diesel-electric buses. The shuttles would replace HRT's existing fleet of trolleys at the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach.

These new 29-foot-long hybrid diesel-electric buses will play a major role in HRT's commitment to the environment. The shuttles will also bear a modern universal identity while maintaining the unique brand for each separate service. They will be wheelchair accessible and would carry bike racks.
