DOCS Petition

Question Time in Parliament - (July)

"In Parliament today the Minister used the excuse of there being a shortage of foster carers which is already well documented," she said.

"It is common knowledge there is a shortage of foster carers and experienced staff. Whilst the majority do a wonderful job there are some who do not, which raises the question of whether the children would be better off with their own parents if they were given intensive, regular support."

Leaving this Site for GOOD!!!

It appears the people/children permitted in this site have ruined all our efforts.

I bid you all goodbye and goodluck - this little person has the temperate PERFECT for a DoCS worker - I am scared of her, she's literally insane with and in need of some serious attention and perhaps even therapy.

I'd like to say that anybody that is serious in continuing to kick the Department's ass, you are welcome to join me and others simply by being in touch.

Coalition Calls for Foster Care Review

Wednesday, 8 August 2007
Coalition Shadow Minister for Child Safety Jann Stuckey is urging the Minister for Child Safety review all cases where there are more than three children living in a foster home.

In Parliament today, Ms Stuckey highlighted inadequacies within the existing Child Safety legislation that allows foster carers to have unlimited numbers of children under their roof.

Coalition to address systemic failure in Child Safety

THE CHALLENGE

Nearly two years after Queensland going to the polls on the basis that the Premier wanted to fix Queensland’s failed child safety system, a Child Death Safety Review Committee Report has produced a scathing analysis of the Department.

The Report identified around half of the child death cases involving the Department of Child Safety were not actually reported to a special review committee within the legislated six-month timeframe.

DoCS Royal Comm. Submitted 15th June

Good News at Last!

The Opposition Party have submitted a formal request to the Crime & Misconduct Commission to have the Department of Child Safety investigated under a Royal Commission Inquiry. This report was submitted Friday 15th June, 2007.

WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS.......!!!

Setting Up A Petition Calling For A Royal Commission Into Docs

This forum has been created to start the ball rolling in response to a reply by David to the 'DoCS Protest rally' post by 'davistown'.

David's cry for action is one of many posted on this site and has triggered our response to help coordinate an initiative to deal with the many problems reported with DOCS around the country and overseas.

We believe that a petition may be more effective than waving placards at some protest rally. However, to create an effective petition the people in this forum will need all the help they can get.
