Oxfordshire Museum

Located on the Blenheim Palace end of central Woodstock, this free museum is set in an old house in a nice garden.

Entry to the museum is via the tourist information centre, which sits in its (modern) foyer. You then enter the old house, which has a different exhibit in each room.

Many of the exhibits are aimed at younger visitors, and there are various activities to keep them entertained. However, there is enough detailed information on most exhibits to keep the interest of adults.

The exhibits cover the history of the county, its main events, the wildlife, the changing industry and employment etc. The museum also has a gallery in the garden that features changing exhibits, often art collections.

There's also a nice cafe that overlooks the gardens.
