This Catholic school for boys from Years 5 to 12 was founded in 1880 and is conducted by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). It takes as its model the Jesuit tradition of Christian humanism in its perspective and philosophy, and aims to create graduates who are young men of competence, conscience and compassion. 


Facilities: Modern facilities cater for the academic and cultural life of the boys and are set in the context of awareness of the long history of the college.

Sport: Includes rugby union, football (soccer), cricket, rowing, sailing, surf life-saving, tennis, track and field, swimming, cross-country, fencing, water polo, basketball, Australian rules, tae kwon do, golf, volleyball, mountain bike cycling, alpine skiing and rugby league.Extracurricular activities: A strong emphasis on debating, music and drama is a feature. All students are involved in community service in which time is spent with homeless people and people with disabilities, backed up with reflection/discussion periods.
Welfare and personal development: Each student in Years 9 to 12 is placed in the care of a housemaster and tutor, who meet on a daily basis with each boy and offer advice and guidance. The housemaster and tutors are supported by a careers adviser, a chaplain and a school counsellor, as well as an excellent special education and gifted and talented program. Each student in Years 5 to 8 has a home-room teacher.
