We provide the foundation and support you will need to make a success of your studies, to encourage and to direct your creative energy along any of the diverse paths this degree opens up to you. The opportunities are there for the arts manager, the freelance reporter, the teacher, the editor, the poet or the playwright. You take the initiative: the destination is yours.


Jenifer Leys BA (English) (C&CS)

Jenifer Leys graduated from the BA in English at Curtin University in 2001, with a major in Cultural Studies. In her final year she received the Communication and Cultural Studies prize for most outstanding student in Cultural Studies.

In 2002 Jenifer started working in Perth for Black Swan Theatre Company, as well as undertaking an online Graduate Certificate in Arts and Cultural Management through the University of South Australia. She continued at Black Swan Theatre for three years, working in the areas of youth theatre, project coordination, executive operations, marketing and sponsorship.

In December 2004, Jenifer moved to Tokyo to undertake short-term Professional development opportunities with the Tokyo International Arts Festival and Seinendan(a contemporary Japanese theatre company).

In April 2005, Jenifer moved to London to pursue creative work, life and travel interests, following which she commenced employment at Askonas Holt Ltd as a Projects Administrator within the Tours Department. She continues to work at Askonas Holt, where she has coordinated and produced tours for a variety of arts organisations, including Companhia de Dança, Deborah Colker, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Europa Galante, Vienna Philharmonic and The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Jenifer has applied recently to undertake the Masters in Performance and Culture at Goldsmiths College in London.
