All I Want Is You - Rockmelons

Title All I Want Is You
Artist Rockmelons
Writer Bryon Jones, Jonathan Jones, Raymond Medhurst, Daniel Dharumasena, Andrew De Silva, Paul Cecchinelli
Publisher EMI Songs Australia Pty Ltd, Midnight Music Catalogue Pty Ltd., BMG Music Publishing Australia Pty Ltd.

The musical kaleidoscope produced over the years by the Rockmelons' Bryon Jones, Jonathon Jones and Ray Medhurst proves they are from a rare breed of musical connoisseurs in this country who understand the real evolution and history of rhythmic music. Since making a firm impression on Australian audiences over the years with numerous hit singles and their two successful albums 'Tale Of The City' and 'Form 1 Planet', the Rockmelons returned in 2002 for a soulful assault on the Australian music scene with their comeback album, 'Rockies 3' opening a new chapter in their on-going development as world-class producers and musicians. The first single off the new album, "All I Want Is You" is a stompin' soul tune that reached #1 on the Aria Club Charts and reinforced the chemistry that emerged from this collaboration.

'Rockies 3' is a diverse collection of irresistible grooves, soul-drenched melodies and infectious vocal hooks and performances. The Rockmelons have once again managed to produce a well-balanced album that is a hybrid of their ol' school sensibilities and a soulful dancefloor spin that sounds perfect within the current musical climate. They’ve achieved this with creative flair and substance, and an innate understanding of music that grooves your soul, in turn reinforcing their true rhythmic spirit.

Beautiful - Disco Montego

Title Beautiful
Artist Disco Montego featuring Katie Underwood
Writer Katie Underwood / Darren Dowlut / Dennis Dowlut
Publisher Peermusic Pty Ltd

They've already made a name for themselves with their work as Kaylan, but for brothers Dennis and Darren Dowlut, a new musical day is dawning. Inspired by the sounds of Europe’s club scene, Disco Montego is the pair’s latest creation: a new collective of groove-laden styles, shapes and sounds that have now come to fruition on their debut self titled album.

Taking inspiration for their name from a Spanish club of the same title, Disco Montego released first single "We Got Love" back in mid 2001 which would later go on to enter the Top Ten ARIA Club Chart.

The ever-evolving Disco Montego collective began searching for the right voices to fit the new sounds they were making. Among others they collaborated with Katie Underwood whose vocals on "Beautiful" helped propel the single into the ARIA Singles Chart’s Top Ten in May this year.

With their collection of crossover dance tracks, Disco Montego are set to ignite the charts and the clubs across the country, giving the local scene fresh new sound to groove to. Asked what they want listeners to get from putting this record in their CD player, and Dennis says it’s plain and simple: just a good time.

Dance All Night - BJ Caruana

Title Dance All Night
Artist BJ Caruana
Writer Ashley Cadell
Rebecca Caruana
Publisher Peermusic Pty Ltd

BJ Caruana burst on the Australian scene with her infectious disco-tinged debut single, "Dance All Night". The 25 year-old performer has since followed up with a new album 'Electric Beach', a lavish collection of dance-pop.

As a teenager, BJ born Rebecca-Jane, to an R&B guitarist/vocalist father and a jazz nightclub singer mother was a clear audience favourite on the TV talent show Star Search. When she belted out big pop ballads by the likes of Gloria Estefan and Taylor Dayne, audiences were enthralled. It wasn't until several years later, when she hooked-up with prolific songwriter/producer Ashley Cadell and moved from her Sydney home to Melbourne to concentrate on writing full-time, that she realised performing and singing her own material was the total creative package she had been looking for. The hit single that they penned together 'Dance All Night' was the first release from Caddell's new label Destinova Records.

Caddell and BJ's efforts have culminated in 'Electric Beach' a finely tuned debut set that covers and expands on the ground they explored on "Dance All Night". With solid lyrics and awesome vocals, they have pushed the boundaries of pop while maintaining an engaging thoroughly danceable sound.

Give In To Me - Rogue Traders

Title Give In To Me
Artist Rogue Traders
Writer Jamie Appleby
Steve Davis
Josephine Armstead (BMI) Milton Middlebrook (BMI)
Publisher Warner Chappell Music Australia Pty Ltd

James Ash and Steve Davis began working together in London back in 1989. However, Ash relocated to Melbourne in 1992 and the partnership became a long-distance one. Even under the tyranny of distance, they still managed to reinvent themselves as the Rogue Traders, produce their debut album and release it through Melbourne dance label, Vicious Vinyl. The disco house, latin-infused 'Give In To Me' is the first single from Rogue Traders' debut album, 'We Know What You're Up To'. The single features the vocals of Melinda Richards and has brought the long time musical partnership of James Ash and Steve Davis to a new height and is turning heads the world over. The single has received high rotation in both clubs and at radio stations in Australia and the UK. The track reached number 32 on the ARIA end of year Club Chart.

More recently, Ash and Davis have returned once again as Rogue Traders with the new single 'One Of My Kind'. Borrowing Michael Hutchence's powerful, yet seductive vocal from INXS' US #1 record 'Need You Tonight'. With a limited amount of vinyl circulated to DJs worldwide, 'One Of My Kind' has managed to infiltrate the most respected club charts and radio shows throughout Europe. Best described as a slamming electronic adventure with it’s driving bass-line, wicked breakdown and massive guitar riff, 'One Of My Kind' is contemporary pop music at its finest.

Way Love's Supposed To Be - Selwyn

Title Way Love’s Supposed To Be
Artist Selwyn
Writer Selwyn Pretorius
Audius Mtawarira.
Paul Begaud.
Publisher BMG Music Publishing Australia Pty Ltd
Sony/ATV Music Publishing (Australia) Pty Ltd.  /Universal/MCA Music Publishing Pty Ltd.

For Australian R&B sensation, Selwyn, the seemingly unattainable ambition of a life in music has now come to fruition with the release of his sensational debut album, 'Meant To Be'. Selwyn's trip from the streets to the studio began when African-born producer Audius, heard him singing whilst pushing shopping trolleys at a suburban Perth supermarket. Soon after meeting, the two began writing pulling together the myriad of ideas that had formed throughout Selwyn's teenage years.

Selwyn's initial demo CD brought him to the attention of the A&R team at Sony Music Entertainment Australia. Within a week Selwyn signed a worldwide deal and made Sony's Epic label his home.

"Buggin' Me" the first single released from "Meant To Be", was instantly embraced by Australian radio and went on to sell in excess of Gold status, peaking at #19 on the national ARIA singles chart. A combination of smooth R&B rhythms, teen anthem lyrics and state of the art production, "Buggin' Me" was the perfect introduction of Selwyn's world-class sound.

Six months later the second cut, another infectious R&B groove, "Way Love's Supposed To Be" once again saw Selwyn at the song-writing helm with co-conspirators Audius and Paul Begaud, while hip hop mixer Rich Travali (Nelly/Jay-Z/R.Kelly) was brought in to add the finishing touches. The track hit the streets and rocketed into the Australian ARIA chart at # 9 and also came in at #14 on the end of year Top Australian Singles Chart.

And so that brings us to the moment Selwyn's been waiting for: the release of the debut album, "Meant To Be". As Selwyn will proudly tell you, this is his chance to take the newly developed "Australian" R&B to the world.
