Polonium Traced to 4 New Sites

Litvinenko Probe Finds Radiation in London Club, Restaurant

LONDON, Aug. 17 — British authorities on Friday disclosed four new London locations, including a Moroccan restaurant and a lap-dancing club, at which investigators have found the kind of radiation that killed former Russian intelligence agent Alexander Litvinenko in November.

The investigation stretched over 47 locations, the Westminster City Council said. The newly disclosed sites were Hey Jo, a lap-dancing club in central London; Litvinenko’s personal Mercedes; Dar Marrakesh, the restaurant; and a gray Mercedes taxi.

Litvinenko, an exile and harsh critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, died at age 43, three weeks after polonium-210 was apparently slipped into his tea in the bar of a London hotel.

Investigators have been aided by a series of positive readings for polonium-210 radiation, marking a trail along which the killer or killers and victim moved. Of the 47 locations examined, including eight aircraft, radiation was found at 27 sites, the Westminster council said.

At the Hey Jo nightclub, traces of radiation were found on seats, cushions and cubicle doors, officials said. At the Moroccan cafe, traces were found on the fabric of a hookah pipe’s handle and on a cushion cover.

Democratic candidates address gay rights

NEW YORK - The gay-rights movement reaches a milestone Thursday when its agenda is the subject of a televised Democratic presidential forum. Yet many activists — craving bolder support for same-sex couples — view the unprecedented event with mixed emotions.

Though pleased that all the candidates of a major party are courting their votes and endorsing the bulk of their political wish-list, they are frustrated that none of the front-runners is calling for legalization of gay marriage.

The forum, to be held in Los Angeles, is co-sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign, a gay-rights group that has become increasingly influential in Democratic politics, and by Logo, the gay-oriented cable channel that will provide a live telecast and Internet simulcast. Every Democratic candidate except Joe Biden and Chris Dodd plans to participate.

Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese will serve as a panelist, along with singer Melissa Etheridge and Washington Post editorial writer Jonathan Capehart. THE ARTICLE With Video.

Two political rivals team up to battle potential Swift-Boat-style attack

New partnership in politics

By Patrick Healy

At first blush they seemed like a surprising couple: Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Senator John Kerry, teaming up last month to defend Mrs. Clinton from Pentagon criticism over the Iraq war – criticism that had a Swift-Boat-style ring to it, her campaign believed, of questioning her patriotism.

The two senators are political rivals within the Democratic Party – he its nominee in 2004, she a leading candidate for the nomination next year. What’s more, Mrs. Clinton was among those who hobbled Mr. Kerry politically last year by criticizing him for a botched joke he made about President Bush and Iraq; Kerry friends say the blow-up over the joke was a factor in his not seeking the presidency again in 2008. WHY IS IT THAT WE HAVE TO SPEAK ENGLISH?

in: E-MAIL

Thanks for the “E” Wanda!

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a Naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies.

At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a group of half dozen or so officers that included personnel from most of the countries.

Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked: “Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: “Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.

Suddenly the group became very quiet.

JIHAD HISTORY IN VIDEO FORM

THIS E-MAIL ARRIVED TODAY

Thanks Pat!

DO YOU UNDERSTAND “JIHAD”

Everyone needs to take a few minutes and watch this powerful video if you haven’t seen it already. It moves quickly but there are pause, reverse & play buttons on bottom right.

MOST interesting is how the map “tells the story” of EXPANSION.

HERE

The entire site is interesting.

PETTIFOG TMI NOTE: EVERY Senator should be forced to watch this before they vote. What is it about - it’s better to be keeping these Islamo Fascist types busy overseas than busy in the United States that these people don’t understand!!

Less than 4,000 brave, intelligent, insightful, strong, determined, patriotic, cream-of-the-crop U.S. citizens who understand this, have dedicated their lives to the world’s freedom from this “Jihad” mentality over the last “FEW” years!

Better people than many they have left behind while they “service” us all. - We are instead left with “party, surface, me first and only me people” that don’t even “see fit” to finish high school or often even find it unnecessary to look for work! “let everyone else handle it” attitude sub-humans while truly important people give their lives. Our military members know what the world needs and they are there to follow through on the chore of ending the “War on Terror” and teach freedom to those who’ve never had a chance to share it.

40,000 + citizens die every year from auto accidents, 80,000 + or - die each year due to medical errors, 40,000 + or - die from crime - - with each of these leaving the large ratio of extreme injury which is also mentioned in regard to our military members.

It’s truly a comedy when you notice lesbian, gay and other open-minded citizens with “free spirit” life styles (maybe just simple iPod playing people) protesting Iraq - Don’t they know that they may have the most to loose if we don’t complete this “War on Terror”?

The comparison to Vietnam is hilarious at best. The only similarity is that the liberals wanted Vietnam stopped also. Compare Germany and the fact that they ALSO never attacked us while they threatened freedom all over the world with intent to expand their beliefs throughout the world - - JUST LIKE ISLAM!! We were slow to end the murders and tyranny Nazis created - claiming it was not our war, etc. Sounds truly similar to me. While Afghanistan played the Japanese role with their leadership controlling the destruction of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon - with others planned without success - Thanks to our Flight 93 heroes.

JOHN HOWARD as PM of AUSTRALIA understands and has often stated the exact words we need to remember in this couple year old statement:

Bin Laden appears in new al-Qaida video

CAIRO, Egypt - A new al-Qaida videotape posted Sunday on a militant Web site featured a short, undated clip of a weary-looking Osama bin Laden praising martyrdom.

The bin Laden clip, which lasted less than a minute, was part of a 40-minute video featuring purported al-Qaida fighters in Afghanistan paying tribute to fellow militants who have been killed in the country. It was posted by the group’s media production wing. ARTICLE SLIDE SHOW VIDEO

QUICK DROP - - SEE THINGS ANOTHER WAY

This video is an example of what media has done to the world. The world is watching us. No wonder everyone is so confused, radical and full of hate. One REAL problem - - WHO do you have peace talks with?!? We are not fighting a government, a country or a specific group of people. We are defending freedom from up-start - “kings of the mountain” types. HOW - do you talk to people who want you to give up your freedom, your country and fall into their box of beliefs so that they can close the lid and control the world?!?!

I may not agree with everything the site this video comes from believes in - BUT - I enjoy and agree with their basic observation of the world’s media views. Global warming - hmmm - now that’s another story altogether! FROM EARLIER MEDIA - This has all been growing for decades - not just a couple administrations.
