In Theaters Friday: Eastern Promises
Director David Cronenberg reteams with his A History of Violence star Viggo Mortensen for the new thriller Eastern Promises, written by Oscar® nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things). The ruthless Nikolai Luzhin (Mortensen), a man with ties to one of London's most notorious crime families, crosses paths at Christmas with Anna (Naomi Watts), a midwife investigating the death of a young woman who just gave birth. When Anna accidentally uncovers potential evidence against the crime family, Nikolai's carefully maintained existence begins to crack, and he unexpectedly finds his loyalties divided.
