I'm not sure how many other large sites use Mephisto, but I managed to deploy it to the-leaky-cauldron.org the other day (after lots of heavy modding to get things like polls and article ratings working). Leaky gets about 3 million unique visitors a month - and with 9,000 articles and over 300,000 comments (not all of which have converted yet) I thought I'd let you know.

It's deployed on a dual xeon 3.0GHz, 4GB RAM with 16 mongrel processes and a dual xeon 3.2GHz, 8GB RAM box running MySQL 5 (although that box handles a number of other databases for the various other apps we run). It uses lighttpd for the web server. So far everything's been running great - no more slowdowns like we used to get with php - yay for caching!

Considering how huge the project is.. with new things like polls and ratings.. I wonder if he released any plugins.. Would be great if can easily incorporate that for other mephisto blogs as well

I actually wrote the poll and article ratings as mephisto plugins and plan on releasing them just as soon as I tidy up the code - it's a bit of a hack at the moment. I'll keep you updated with my progress.
