If this is a dog’s life, I’d be willing to roll over, play dead and sniff a few bums right now.
Word is that Oprah Winfrey, our beloved talk show guru, is leaving $30 million US of her fortune to her dogs.
That’s $18 million more than Trouble, the dog owned by hotel operator and real estate investor Leona Helmsley, inherited.
"Oprah has a menagerie of animals and she wants them to be pampered for the rest of their lives if she were to die first," a friend told Australia's Woman's Day magazine.
"She has five dogs plus various other pets, so she rewrote her will to include millions for their care."
In 2005, Winfrey grew her passel of pooches, adding golden retrievers Luke and Layla to her cocker spaniels Sophie and Solomon. (Golden retriever Gracie died in May after choking on a ball.)
Think a $30 million doggie trust fund is a tad extravagant, if not loony? It's peanuts compared to her net worth.
Winfrey ranked No. 1 on Forbes magazine’s annual Celebrity 100 Power List this year, and took home a reported $260 million US in 2006.
