GRANARY STALL AT THE SUMMER JAZZ FESTIVAL
Every year there is a jazz festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend
at King Street in Bristol. The event is organised by the famous jazz public house
THE OLD DUKE which is run by the same fine folk who run the GOLDEN LION
where we have held the last two GRANAREUNITED events.
As King Street is just around the corner from the GRANARY ,
DJ SUPER-ED and AL READ took up the offer of having a GRANARY STALL
to give the crowds visiting the dockside event an insight in to the
rock history of the striking building. It was also an opportunity to sell
a few GRANARY books and GRANARY Tshirts as well as publicise how
the GRANAREUNITED events keep the spirit of Bristol's
legendary rock venue alive.

Al snoozes in the shade after checking the quality of the
varied ales on offer at the festival.

with their new venture into the retail trade.

CLASSIC PROG ROCK NOW ON CD
Granary Club favourites throughout 1971 and 1972 were progressive rockers
Plastic Dog team member Steve Webb fronted the band on vocals and lead guitar
along with Steve Swindells on keyboards (he went on to play with Hawklords),
John Merritt on bass and Plastic Dog's extraordinary graphic artist Rodney Matthews on drums.
Recordings they made for the BBC in 1972 have been remastered and issued on the CD.
"TWICE UPON A TIME".
It's available to buy on line from Rodney Matthews own web site which is
well worth exploring to see Rodney's superb artworks.
Rodney designed the Squidd CD cover as well.
