Old Highercombe HotelOld Highercombe Hotel
The premises operated as a hotel from 1854 to 1877. From 1880 until 1963 it was used as the Tea Tree Gully Post Office. When the local school outgrew its single room, the large room of the Hotel was used as a classroom for a number of years, and for many years both the Headmasters and the Postmasters families lived in the building. From 1963 to 1967 the building served as office and library accommodation for the Tea Tree Gully Council.

In 1967 the SA Government dedicated the building and land to the National Trust of SA. The Tea Tree Gully Branch of the National Trust have restored the building and converted it to a Folk Museum containing clothing, furniture and early photographs. There are outdoor displays of dairy and agricultural artefacts.
Nestled right against the Adelaide Hills, the property provides an attractive setting, with striking views to the coast.
