Charity should be altruistic, not a means to another end

While the move towards altruism that many celebrities seem to be making is certainly commendable, each time a charitable cause arises in the media, it seems to spark a bidding war. Yes, the argument can be made that America's wealthy are at least doing something constructive to create publicity; however, there are countless social problems in every corner of the world.

Hansen's outlaw lives on screen

Hansen's outlaw lives on screen
Infamous. Legendary. Notorious. This is how the man called Jesse James is remembered. The story of America's first outlaw, while fascinating and exploitative, bears little resemblance to historical truth. In reality, James was just another low-life criminal who robbed, terrorized, and murdered those who got in his way.

Freshmen orientation needs to address lack of sexual education

Although it was a few months ago, I remember orientation quite well: all those "trust-building" activities, my own whining, and what seemed like hours of alcohol safety talks and such things. Whatever. It was all well and good, but when I compared my orientation with those from other schools, I was struck by how one-dimensional it was.

Partying 101: In-depth look at freshman drinking
College students drink. There is nothing surprising about that fact. They have been since the Middle Ages, when commentators noted drinking at Europe's first universities. The Hawks now stand at 3-4 and will take a newfound sense of confidence on the road to Lafayette College--another team hungry for a turnaround after recent struggles.

Hot or Not: Who are you dating?

As a woman, it's easy to believe that you have a "type." For some it might be blonde hair, blue eyes, and a completely ripped body. For others, it might be a well-read bookworm wearing emo glasses. Regardless of what you might be attracted to, it's important to understand that it's all right to stray from your comfort zone once in a while and try something new.

Pizzi a veteran leader on and off the field

She tallied eight goals and two assists for a total of 18 points last season. However, she would never tell you any of this, mainly because she doesn't keep track of how many points she had last year.
