Palermo sign Serb Jankovic
Friday 29 June, 2007

Real Mallorca man Bosko Jankovic has officially signed for Palermo, announced the Sicilian outfit this evening.

The 23-year-old Serb midfielder put pen to paper on a five-year contract after director of sport Rino Foschi completed negotiations with the Spaniards.

A Red Star Belgrade youth product, Jankovic moved to Mallorca last summer and scored nine goals in 28 Liga games.

He had also been a target for Chelsea, Barcelona and Valencia, but chose to sign for up and coming Palermo.

Jankovic played for Finalists Serbia in the European Under-21 Championships that concluded last week.

However he is already a full international for his squad, scoring in the Euro 2008 qualifiers against both Portugal and Finland.

It is a great boost for Coach Stefano Colantuono (pictured) after the departure of Eugenio Corini to Torino.
