A Message From The Mayor
Only a 30 minute commute from the hustle and bustle of large urban centres, we invite you to consider Eckville for your quiet retreat in the "country". Today, this prosperous growing community is the centre for agriculture, oil and gas, lumber enterprises as well as a major centre for people to live in and enjoy "small town atmosphere" with the "big town amenities:"

We offer the visitor and resident alike a full range of retail businesses, shopping, restaurants, public services, banks, excellent sporting facilities, a community centre, senior’s friendship centre, senior’s lodge and golf courses to name just a few. Within easy access of Eckville are the Rocky Mountains and the back country, ski hills, major lakes, trout ponds, campgrounds and unique guest ranches.
Eckville, which covers an area of 400 acres and a population of 1,014 has been continuously growing and with the twinning of Highway 11 between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake and we project that Eckville will continue to grow. Eckville has a good selection of residential, commercial and industrial lots and is striving to balance future residential growth with industrial and commercial development. The community welcomes the addition of new retail business and any other commercial or industrial ventures.
On behalf of Council and staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to Eckville. Ours is a small community but one we are very proud of. Our gratitude goes out to the many folks who came to this land in the early years and who with perseverance and determination made Eckville what it is today: a vibrant community with warm hospitality.
Please feel welcome in Eckville – YOU ARE!
