The Marine Corps Detachment’s Mission is to train Marines in entry and advanced level intelligence and firefighting skills in preparation for service in the Fleet Marine Force. The detachment represents the Commandant of the Marine Corps to the Commander, 17th TRW and ensures the welfare and discipline of all Marines aboard the installation. In addition, the detachment provides oversight for the training curriculum in order to ensure that Marine mission objectives are accomplished.
