Steelers Go Down to the Bison on thier 1,000th Night

Clouthier with the Steelers first
Not a night to remember for the UNISON Sheffield Steelers going down 3-2 at hom to Basingstoke, and missing a chance to overtake Nottingham, who also lost, 5-2 in Coventry.

The game started slowly and whilst the Steelers missed out again on their power-play chances the Bison struck 2 early goals on theirs, with goals from Bergin and Cruickshank.

Steelers looked a little sharper in the middle period and were back in the game when Brett Clouthier scored at 30.15. Back came the Bison with Sheffield born Greg Wood scoring the eventual game winner.

Right on the buzzer the Steelers hit back with Rod Sarich and whilst Sheffield came hard at Basingstoke in the final period it wasnt to be and a very disapointing end to a Sunday night.
Sarich with he 2nd
