Virginia Division of Highways today announced the opening of the next section of
Appalachian Corridor D, from the WV 892/WV 68 bridge over US 50 to the WV 892
intersection near DuPont Road.
This 1.32 mile section of highway is the final
roadway section of Corridor D to be completed between Clarksburg, West Virginia
and Cincinnati, Ohio, and is scheduled to be opened Thursday, August 31, 2006,
according to George Shinsky, District Three Construction Engineer.
The Blennerhasset Bridge, scheduled for opening in
the fall of 2008, is the last remaining Corridor D project.
Signs and arrow boards will be in place to assist
motorists. Additionally, as with any new roadway change, motorists are asked to
be alert and use caution.
