05:00 GMT: SMOOTH LANDING FOR THE BREITLING ORBITER 2:
ENTHUSIASM OF THE BURMESE POPULATION

The Breitling Orbiter 2 landed safely approximately 120 km from the capital of Burma. The envelope of the balloon has been slowly deflated and the crew, happy and emotional, will be repatriated to Switzerland on Sunday. A public reception will be held in Geneva airport, Saturday at 4pm (Geneva time).

The Burmese Army arrived first at the landing site, followed by the Breitling staff and the media. At the arrival, hundreds of Burmese ran when they saw this silver giant and offered assistance. The army helped by firing through the envelope in order to expedite the deflation.

Exceptionally the terrace of the Geneva Airport will be open to the public to celebrate the return of the crew.
