The very strong winds should ease through the morning. Mostly cloudy with some heavy rain at times, clearing away early afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 deg C (57 deg F).

Outlook for Sunday
Breezy with some showery rain at times. Some bright spells.

REGIONAL FLASH WARNINGS OF SEVERE WEATHER

These warnings are issued to help the public make informed decisions that protect their life, welfare and property in the event of severe weather in the next few hours. They are issued when fixed weather thresholds are met.

Severe Gales
Affecting Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Southend-On-Sea & Thurrock
Southeasterly winds will increase during Friday evening. Severe gales are expected to develop soon after midnight with gusts to 60 mph in many areas and locally 70 to 75 mph in exposed regions. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
