Mark HammettA member of the foundation Crusaders side of 1996 (Crusader number 18); Mark Hammett went on to represent the franchise on 81 occasions. His tally of appearances included the finals of 1998-99-00-02 and 2003, bowing out with two tries in the 2003 decider against the Blues at Eden Park. Hammett also featured on 76 occasions for Canterbury between 1992 and 2002, and played 29 Tests for the All Blacks between 1999 and 2003, participating in two Rugby World Cups. The former Marist Albion hooker worked on the Crusaders coaching staff as a forwards advisor in 2006, offering the same service to the Canterbury side in the Air New Zealand Cup later that year, before being appointed as Vern Cotter’s successor as Crusaders assistant coach.
