Although it's been reported in major entertainment publications all over the world it still wasn't official until today, but now it is official -- Garbage is performing the theme for The World Is Not Enough
The James Bond official site posted a press release on the site with quotes from Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. In it they said, "We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative group and believe the collaboration between David Arnold, Don Black and Garbage will make this one of the most memorable Bond songs."
The press release did not say if the song had already been recorded or release any other details about the style of the song.
The prospect of Garbage performing the song was first reported by Music Week magazine on June 24 and later reported by the Hollywood Reporter on July 9. And just a week ago Dotmusic reported that the song had been recorded -- quoting songwriter Don Black.
Don Black told the music site, "The song reflects the film. It tells the story, which of course is all about world domination, but is a lot more personal and intense." Black added that, "It’s quite ballady and dramatic, but feels contemporary."
