Ellen Johnson photo Hello,

My name is Ellen Johnson. I am President of American Atheists, and want to welcome you on behalf of our organization to our new site on the World Wide Web. This site is just one of the many outreach activities operated by our organization.

Before you head for the Visitor's Center or other parts of our web site, let me tell you a little bit about my background. I have been active with our movement since 1978. In addition to having served on our Board of Directors, I was also the New Jersey representative. I am one of the fortunate few who grew up in an Atheist home, and today I'm rearing my two children in an Atheist environment.

It is the goal of American Atheists to provide you with new avenues for learning about the Atheist philosophy. At this site, we will work to inform you about state-church separation issues, and give you the Atheist perspective on them.

This information is thought-provoking, intellectually challenging and pure hard-core Atheist. It's something that you won't find anywhere else.

We encourage you to make visits to our web site a part of your Atheist lifestyle. We also urge you to share Atheism with friends and family. We need to be activists for Atheism! By making your Atheism known to others, you will be surprised how easy it becomes for others to admit that perhaps they, too, are Atheists! The world will become a less-lonely place in an otherwise unrelentingly religious society.

We hope that you find the American Atheist web pages to be challenging and informative. Remember that this site is under "permanent construction." We will be adding new features and offerings in the future. Enjoy!

Ellen Johnson,
