President Arroyo to lead groundbreaking rites for Subic-Clark-Tarlac expressway
FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2005  |  INFRASTRUCTURE

CLARK ZONE, April 1 (PNA) – President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will lead the groundbreaking ceremony for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway Project (SCTEP) on Monday.

This was announced Thursday by Antonio Ng, president and chief operating officer of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) during the induction of members and officers of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., headed by its president Roland “Rox” Pena.

Ng said SCTEP is a major road network which could attain good synergy between the aviation-led economic development envisioned for Clark Special Economic Zone and the seaport in Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.

He said that infrastructures like the SCTEP, which is part of the Subic-Clark Area Corridor road networks, is among the four primary engines of growth needed to make Clark an effective magnet for job creation and economic activity.

Ng cited efforts to make Clark the investors’ first choice in cost competitiveness, simplified bureaucracy and ease of doing business.

During the occasion, he urged members of the business sector to help in achieving the objectives for developing Clark.

”What we aim to accomplish is very, very tough. Without your support, it will not happen. And so with passion and humility, I seek your friendship, cooperation and assistance to our framework of action at CDC,” said Ng.
