Amy Ziff of the popular band Betty is going solo - and if you catch her performance at Theater J on September 9, the proceeds will benefit your National Lesbian Health Organization! You'll also get a chance to meet Amy and enjoy refreshments at a reception after the show.
"Amy brings a witty mix of high-brow bawdiness, laughter-inducing self-flagellation, and sly New Age wisdom to review a life spent behaving badly while trying to do good. Ziff, occasionally accompanying herself on the cello, breaks out and commands the spotlight in this eagerly anticipated premiere. "
Sunday, September 9 at 7:30 PM The Studio Theater 2ndStage 1501 14th St. NW Washington DC
Hi, Thanks for the add, I am a French politician who lives with HIV/AIDS. I was the first French politician – and also the only one so far – to acknowledge publicly my seropositivity, which was discovered in 1987. In France, I am the chairman of a society with 13.000 French politicians of all parties (ELCS, soon on myspace). I support UNITAID. One of our fight is to obtain that USA change their acts/laws which forbid people living with HIV/AIDS to enter in your country. I know all you do against AIDS and we need you for this important fight against discriminations. I have just created my "myspace" to promote this international fight and I need you to mobilise in USA! Best wishes. Jean-Luc Romero
Thanks for the add. You probably know that DC has an HIV rate higher than any state. What you may not know is that DC also has the highest HIV death rate, partly because folks don't get tested and into treatment soon enough. If you want to get tested for HIV click here to use google maps and find an HIV testing site close to you. Be sure to check out: www.fighthivindc.org to learn more and find out how you can get involved.
And please help us meet our goal of expanding our presence on myspace by adding 1,000 new friends in July. Spread the word to your friends.
