PROV Building
Spacer Public Record Office Victoria is the archives of the State Government of Victoria. We hold records from the beginnings of the colonial administration of Victoria in the mid-1830s to today.

You can use this site to learn about what records we hold, and how we provide access to them. You can search for and order particular records through Access the Collection. To view original records you will need to visit one of our reading rooms.

Good records help to ensure the accountability of the Victorian Government. Our records standards and other information for records managers are in the Records Management section of the site.

You can read the latest news from PROV in our public researcher newsletter rEsearch.
