Sheff United v Southampton over 2.5 goals @1.833 Pinnacle/Blue Square 3/10

No problems with taking this early. Both sides very overish this season. Southampton in particular away from home where their weak defence comes under more pressure. Central defenders seem to swing in and out of St Mary's every week, Mettomo in this week previously at Lucerne. Dailly last week from West Ham. So a completely unsettled line up at the back is ensured. Sheff Uniteds back 4 isn't exactly inspiring. We watched Palace stick 3 past them last w/e. They lack pace and positional sense. Up front both sides are in better form, Blades sticking five past Morecambe last night while Southampton can perm from Saganowski, Raziak, Wright-Phillips and average nearly 2 goals a game despite their woeful start. Should be a few goals in this one. (BC)

Burnley -0.25 Asian Handicap @1.9 Pinnacle 3/10

Burnley have started the season in very solid form with only one defeat so far away to Scunthorpe. At home they are a tough nut to crack and put in a decent perf even with a weakened team against Premiership side Portsmouth. Both Blake and Gray (reg strikers) should return for this one. We watched Palace play Sheff U last week, they offered nothing until the introduction of Freedman in the second half who changed the game. There seems no guarantee he will start this one as Taylor likes to use him sparingly. The Palace manager is still under some pressure - his tactics are just often too negative. Palace have lost their last 2 away games and it's hard to see them getting much here.(BC)

Colchester -0.25 Asian Handicap @1.88 Pinnacle 3/10

Well feels like we are wringing the last juice out of Colchester after backing them successfully on the last two occasions. We were perhaps a tad lucky last week but for sure the Essex side are a stronger force at home. Their bare results are misleading - they would have beaten Barnsley but for an incompetent ref and also deserved to beat high flying Charlton. Add to that last seasons phenomenal record at Layer Road and we feel safe in our estimations here. Scunthorpe have started well but are a weaker force on the road. They also have a big doubt over the influential Crosby at the back. They were dominating WBA before his substitution saw the Baggies run away with it at the end. No way can Scunthorpe be ranked above Colchester and with the edge on home form, the value is on Geraint Williams team (BC)

Sunday 30th September

WBA v QPR over 2.5 goals @1.83 Pinnacle (1.82 Centrebet etc) 3/10

WBA got thumped pretty horrendously in the cup midweek so we can expect to see a backlash here. Mowbray is due to make plenty of changes and expect his regular first teamers to come back into the team - Teixeira etc.. It was no real surprise to see WBA concede four first half goals in the Cardiff game although it wasn't a full strength defence the nature of this team is to play it open and focus on attack. They should have too much for a QPR defence which is poor at best. QPR can hold a threat up front however where Blackstock and co are by no means the worst strikeforce in the Champ. They can certainly score against this porous WBA defence. Should be quite an entertaining game (BC)
