IRL Alvin G. Carson

Alvin G. Carson: (Antrim & Belfast YMCA) Following a long illness, borne with dignity and good humour, Alvin (59) passed away on 25 February. First capped in 1979 Alvin went on to win 90 caps for Ireland and 10 for Gt. Britain to become Ireland's most capped goalkeeper. On retiring from playing he took to umpiring and became an FIH International umpire. One of life's true gentlemen, Alvin will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and many friends in hockey.
