Uh, kinda weird, because it seems that Burton wants to focus on his other band in 2007:
October 25, 2006
Some words from Burton C. Bell:
I wanted to share with you a pic of the newest member of Ascension of The Watchers, Violet Morning Bell...
She will be playing some guitars, bongos, and additional vocals for the recordings of new Ascension of The Watchers songs, which will begin in January. My intention is to record new songs, as well as re-records the old ones, as they have evolved over a period of a few shows. I thank everyone for being patient, and for the complete and sincere support through this past year. I have had to focus on Fear Factory for a while, but 2007 is all about Ascension of The Watchers. Look for us soon, as I am planning some special shows next year.

That AOTW newspost was from October though. Maybe Burton had a change of plans.
As for the album, I'm pretty sure the production will be awesome. _________________

I hope AotW does some shows next year.
I don't think a new FF album will come out in 2007. They're just starting the writing process.. _________________ The millions pain me. It's easier to talk to my PC. |

this is definitely going to be very fuckin' special
think about it, the signs are everywhere...apart from the fact that Christian said it would be heavy from start to finish. LOL
but seriously, Ray said in a phone interview that he was definitely going to work on some faster drumming (is that even possible? he's pretty fucking fast as he is).
Fear Factory as a band have been performing ALOT of the SOANM songs lately (Crash Test, Leechmaster) as well as some of the heavier songs from Demanufacture (H-K) and the fact that they're writing with Byron now makes it all the more probable that the new stuff will be the heaviest and fastest yet.
I don't know how many of you here are familiar with Byron's other band (Strapping Young Lad) but they're pretty fucking brutal, and they do have quite a few songs which rival Fear Factory's in terms of how fast and heavy they are.
to me the only negative (if you could even call it that) is that Burton seems to be the only one who's....uhhhh....not really into it.
well obviously he will be into it, but out of all the interviews that I've read and watched with members of the band, both Chris and Ray said that they very much want Fear Factory to evolve to a new, heavier sound whereas Burt joked that the new FF album wouldn't be out till 2009, but then said that the new album wouldn't be out for a while and was quoted as "2008 seems to be appropriate".
obviously, he may have had a change of heart, I'm just glad that Christian's back into the "FEAR FACTORY SPIRIT". he did say in an interview a few months back that Fear Factory's days were numbered and that his interest in the band wasn't anything like it was when they released Archetype.
obviously, now he seems to think that nothing can stop Fear Factory (thank god). but yes, i've rambled on for longer than expected, but this album could be their heaviest yet. oh yeah, I also agree with the person who mentioned Burton doing some "death grunts". it's been 15 years since we last heard Burton's "death metal grunts". it'd be fucking awesome if they made an appearance or 2 on the new album.
Fear Factory will not fucking disappoint! |

2008 does seem appropriate though. I remember someone saying that Burt wanted to focus on AOTW(which I like btw) in 2007. I think the other guys of FF will soley write music the entire upcoming year and have Burt come at the end of the year and do the vocals. But thats what I think. I don't know how FF can get any heavier than they already are. Sounds promising to say at least. _________________ My Flesh - Your Flesh
