I listen to power metal. why? Power metal has an epic sound. It is fast and has catchy melodies. As well it has a harmonic tempo. The lyrics are inspired by mythology, science fiction and especially fantasy, have strong choruses and has clean vocals. Guitar solos are pretty much a guarantee and are fast yet technical. Listening to music is a chance for me to take a little break from the world and relax. I don't have to worry about anything, other than trying to name the song that's playing. If I'm busy, i always have music playing in the background whenever possible. Even though im not focused on it, it still manages to calm me and keep me focused on what im doing. It eliminates most other distractions. I do listen to other genres of music, such as old-school rap (Jurassic 5) and hair/heavy metal (KISS, Twisted Sister, Blue Öyster Cult, Iron Maiden), though i listen to power metal the most. Favourite bands include: Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Demons and Wizards, Dragon Force, Nocturnal Rites, Stratovarius, Ed Guy and Nevermore.
