The Sagamuseum intimately recreates key moments in Icelandic history, moments that determined the fate of our people and which give a compelling view into how Icelanders have lived and thought for more than a millenium.

In this vibrant, multimensional museum, both Icelandic and foreign visitors are given an opportunity to learn about Icelandic history in a way that is both educational and fun.

For the first time you can see historical figures and major events in Icelandic history from the time of the earliest settlers right up to that of the Reformation, brought to life in a unique and exciting way.

Visitors are guided through the museum with a CD player and can choose between Icelandic, English, French, Swedish and German. Both the CD and the text in a booklet are for sale at the front desk.
