OFFICIAL LIVE TNA “TURNING POINT" RESULTS ON THE FLY
Sunday, December 11, 2005 – Orlando, FL
By: Marcus Cygy

The 30-Minute Free Preshow got started right away with our opening match up in front of one of the loudest crowds we’ve ever witnessed in TNA!

PRESHOW:
LANCE HOYT & THE NATURALS vs. BUCK QUARTERMAIN, JON BOLEN, & JOE DOERING

This match got started with Chase Stevens and Buck Quartermain. Chase took Buck to the outside and delivered a vertical suplex. The momentum was on side with The Naturals and Lance Hoyt. Chase quickly then tagged in his partner of The Naturals, Andy Douglas. He went to work on Buck’s arm, but shortly after, Buck gave a few drills to the head of Douglas. Jon Bolen had his first taste of action in the TNA ring against Douglas, but that was cut short, as the entering Lance Hoyt wanted Joe Doering in the ring. Hoyt gave a clothesline to Doering to the outside. Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas then worked together as Stevens elevated Douglas up and over to the outside on the opposing team. Later on in the match, the rookies of TNA in Bolen and Doering had the long and grueling advantage over Andy Douglas. They went for quick tags even incorporating Buck into them. It looked like there was no chance for Andy but he finally saw the light and tagged in the big man from Dallas, TX in Lance Hoyt. He cleaned up and ultimately brought the win to his team as The Naturals were able to hit The Natural Disaster on Doering. Hoyt then finished off Doering for the win.

Winners: Lance Hoyt & The Naturals

After the match, the ring was being deconstructed. The ropes were taken down and replaced with sharp cutting edge barbed wire. This is the first time in United States pay-per-view history where we will have a barbed wire match of this nature entitled “Barbed Wire Massacre”. It’s the “Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal” Sabu vs. “The Monster” Abyss!

The paid portion of the pay-per-view was now underway and it was now time for the opening match – Barbed Wire Massacre Match!

BARBED WIRE MASSACRE:
SABU vs. “THE MONSTER” ABYSS

Sabu immediately tried to hit Abyss with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire but he missed and Abyss went straight to work with huge rights to Sabu. Sabu though brought in his best friend, the steel chair and used it to his advantage. Sabu went for a pin, but Abyss kicked out and shot him into the barbed wire, the first time it was touched in this match. It was now Abyss trying to put Sabu face first into the barbed wire but Sabu countered and tried putting Abyss into it. Sabu was now cut open from the time where Abyss elevated him into the barbed wire during the pin. Abyss then lifted Sabu overhead and dropped him into the barbed wire. Sabu’s neck and stomach were stuck on the barbed wire. Shortly after, Sabu pulled out a device from his boot; it appeared to be a screwdriver as he stabbed Abyss in the arm with it multiple times. Abyss was now losing a tremendous amount of blood from those stabs he suffered from Sabu. Sabu however was getting the worst in this match from the barbed wire, but he changed that as he did a drop toehold-sending Abyss into the barbed wire! Now the equalizer with the chair, Sabu hit him and got a near fall. Abyss then clubbed Sabu in the head with a big right hand, followed by a choke slam into the steel chair. Now Abyss had a steel chair wrapped in barbed wire and went for a splash but Sabu countered and got it square between the legs of Abyss right where it hurts. Then followed by multiple headshots. Sabu was showing no mercy. Later, Sabu set up a chair and spring boarded out of the ring onto Abyss, followed by gigantic TNA chants from the fans! Abyss however, took Sabu and put him body first across the barbed wire. The barbed wire board was now in the ring, Abyss was putting it in position. He then picked Sabu up for a powerbomb but Sabu countered, later biting his figure – Anything to win! Sabu would eventually taste the barbed wire wrapped board as James Mitchell was then helping Abyss setup another barbed wire wrapped board – it was set in the corner. This already brutal match from the get-go was not over yet. Abyss ate more barbed wire after a duck and a miss by Sabu sending Abyss into the barbed wire board in the corner. Abyss backed up and the table was stuck on him, Sabu drop kicked Abyss down onto the other barbed wire board lying down on the mat, and then Sabu went for a double leg drop on top in what was a barbed wire sandwich. Sabu pinned and received the victory in this ever barbed wire match in TNA!

Winner: Sabu

After the match, the fans were chanting "Thank You". Abyss got out of the ring, as he appeared to be in tremendous pain while trying to recuperate and head to the back.

The 4Live Kru was backstage with Shane Douglas. All four members were in great spirits and were looking forward to defeating Team Canada later tonight.

Moments later we were taken backstage as we saw paramedics working on Abyss.

X-DIVISION TAG TEAM MATCH:
ALEX SHELLEY & RODERICK STRONG vs. MATT BENTLEY & AUSTIN ARIES

The fans in the IMPACT Zone were participating in the Bentley Bounce to kick off this match. Alex Shelley and Austin Aries started the bout with great back and forth X-Division action. There’s no doubt that these two are future X-Division Champions. The fans now participated in a duel of chants between two competitors. Moments later Aries and Bentley were working together in the ring with the now legal man, Roderick Strong. Later, Bentley and Aries were doing quick tags, with Roderick Strong on the receiving end of their quick tactic moves. Shelley later was back in the ring with Austin Aries. He had the advantage so he saw fit to bring his cocky personality into the match with some disrespectful gestures towards Aries. Shelley tagged Roderick in, but he didn’t let Aries tag in Bentley. The two now worked on Aries with Strong holding Aries up on his shoulders and Shelley going from the top rope with a missile drop kick sending him down on Strong’s knee which was a variation of a back breaker for a near fall. Shortly after, the fresh man in Matt Bentley was in the ring and he pulled out all punches taking Strong and Shelley down. He went to the top rope and dropped the elbow on Shelley for a near fall. Later, Alex Shelley delivered a top rope Senton to Bentley and Shelley went for a pin, but Aries broke that. The Super Kick was then delivered onto Shelley for the victory.

Winners: Matt Bentley & Austin Aries

Backstage was Monty Brown with a Bob The Builder stuffed toy, making fun of Christian Cage. Monty then sent out his warnings to Christian, telling him that no one is going to leap frog over him, and that he’s definitely not The Alpha Male around here. Monty finished by saying Cage was going to feel something and it was The Pounce, period. But then it was NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett who appeared onto the scene and told Monty that he just didn’t get it. Jarrett said if it were up to him, Monty would have had the shot a long time ago for the title. The Alpha Male said that the face of 2006 will be the face of The Alpha Male. Jarrett said that Monty didn’t get it, so he was going to go talk to someone that does get it. Jarrett was portraying that he knows what the announcement will be concerning the face of 2006.

The next match was a hand picked opponent for Raven by Larry Zbyszko.

RAVEN vs. CHRIS K
The man formally known as Chris Kanyon was now against Raven as he went straight to the offense on Raven and even to the outside where he sent Raven shoulder first into the ring post. Chris K then sent Raven on the brink of losing the match right away as he dropped the leg on Raven on the ring apron. Raven though after drove Chris K’s back into the steel guardrail with a Russian Leg Sweep. Chris K brought Raven back into the ring as he was being really verbal abusive towards Raven. An attempted moonsault by Chris K was failed and now Raven had the ankle lock submission hold locked in on Chris K. Chris K then ate Raven’s knee that sent him over to the outside. He had enough and was going to the back but it was Raven with a hip toss sending him back down the ramp towards the ring. Raven was now bleeding from either his mouth or nose. There was no giving up in Raven; he brought in the steel chair for an attempted drop toehold that failed. Raven by instinct then turned around and punched but Chris K blocked with the chair. Raven took Chris K from the top rope soon after and powerbombed him onto the steel chair, followed by the Raven Effect DDT for the victory over Larry Zbyszko’s hand picked opponent, Chris K.

Winner: Raven

After the match, Larry said he had had enough of Raven and told him to sign the release like a man. Raven slapped Zbyszko and then it was Larry actually fighting back. Security was now holding Zbyszko back instead of Raven who was laid back and relaxed with a good laugh. Cassidy Riley was beside him having a good laugh as well.

Backstage was Team Canada with Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett asked D’Amore if they know anything about what this whole ordeal is concerning about the face of TNA changing in 2006.

TEAM CANADA vs. 4LIVE KRU
The family tree of the 4Live Kru had Kip James starting this match out. Eric Young was going to start to match but he was too scared so he tagged in Bobby Roode. It was now a match of powers, could this be a Roode awakening? The fans were chanting USA, with Kip James getting the early advantage on Roode with a headlock. Kip went for a vertical suplex, and then took Petey Williams up overhead, then sending him down for a press slam. The signature shoe from Konnan was then felt by Petey, followed with a low blow leg drop from Killings at the top rope. Later, it was Young and BG in the ring. BG went for his series of B Jizzle punches, and then a little strut for the knee drop. Young sent BG outside and then it was all of Team Canada taking cheap shots at BG. They sent him back in though for Eric Young, but he decided to tag in A1. The power of Team Canada in A1 now used his brute force knocking the wind out of BG, but then he tagged in Roode as he set BG in the corner for now Petey who was tagged in to sing Oh Canada on top of BG hanging upside down at the turnbuckle. Kip James now came back in and he took everyone down, but then focused his attention on Eric Young, ultimately trying to finish him off with a Jack Hammer but all of Team Canada came to the save. Konnan then had a steel chair and was going to hit Bobby Roode but instead hit the life out of Kip James and forced the stunned Bobby Roode to make the pin for the win.

Winners: Team Canada

BG and Ron Killings came into the ring to try and resolve the situation, but instead he received a steel chair shot of his own. The family tree was broken up, Ron Killings had a shock look on his face. Konnan hugged him and invited him to leave with him.

Backstage was The Diamonds In The Rough. Simon reiterated what he said on iMPACT! concerning his disrespectful comments towards AJ Pierzysnki.

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan now made his way down to the ring to join color commentating along with Mike Tenay and Don West.

BASEBRAWL:
THE DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH vs. SONJAY DUTT, CHRIS SABIN, & DALE TORBORG w/ AJ PIERZYNSKI

Elix Skipper started out with Chris Sabin. The two used their X-Division styles to counter one another. Before the match, Bobby explained that he told AJ to lie, to cheat, and be dishonest. Mike questioned those manager pointers. Back in the ring Skipper tried spearing Sabin on the outside, but instead was booted in the head by Sabin. Sonjay Dutt then went flying from the top onto David Young then spring boarding off the ropes back onto David Young. Dale Torborg was now getting a taste of his first in ring activity in this match with some quick right hands on all members of The Diamonds Of The Rough, then he press slammed his own partner, Sonjay Dutt to the outside onto The Diamonds In The Rough. Double pain there, but moments later it was David Young taking it to Sonjay. Simon Diamond came in though and motioned a pitch that turned into a stiff right hand to Sonjay. Taking turns, it was now Elix Skippers turn in the ring, he stopped Sonjay during the revolutions and sent him straight on his head. Sonjay suffered more, it was a Spinebuster from David Young. Sonjay however came back with a hurricanrana onto Young. Now Dale Torborg came back in with a tag and started cleaning out the trash. He took out Skipper and Young, then hit a choke slam onto Simon Diamond. Diamond’s teammates though broke the pin. Sabin now paused in mid air then hit the missile drop kick onto Young hung upside-down on the ring apron. Simon Diamond then took some baseball gear and hit Dale Torborg with it. AJ pulled the referee out of the ring as he was pinning. The referee was going to call for a bell but Bobby “The Brain” Heenan got into the action and then it was AJ Pierzynski with a home base plate that hit Simon Diamond as all competitors then pinned Diamond for the win.

Winners: Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin, & Dale Torborg

At the end of the match AJ Pierzynski and Dale Torborg were presented with TNA rings to go along with their World Series rings.

CONTENDER’S MATCH:
“CAPTAIN CHARISMA” CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. “THE ALPHA MALE” MONTY BROWN

This was Christian Cage’s first match ever in TNA pay-per-view history and the fans were 100% behind him for this one. Monty Brown used his brute force sending Christian Cage down and over his head, just showing him what he’s getting himself into here. Christian though slapped Monty, but did he really want to do that? Christian Cage now was getting a pounding in the corner, but he ducked a clothesline and then came up with a series of punches of his own. He dodged a Pounce and went to the outside and taunted Brown. Later, Christian slid out and brought Brown down face first into the side of the ring. Later, Monty Brown was going for a press slam but instead, Christian slid off the top and sent Brown out of the ring. Christian Cage then went high risk and took a stretch dive off the top to the outside sending Monty Brown down and for a near fall back in the six sided ring. It was hunger vs. experience in this match, Brown, the hungry man took Christian Cage and dropped him neck first into the rope. He then picked him up again and press slammed him again to the outside, splattering him down like a pancake. The Alpha Male was now in control for quite sometime, even getting another near fall after an elevated Irish whipped press slam in mid air. It was then a released over-the-head scoop slam that received another near fall. Just like Raven earlier in the night, Christian Cage was showing no give up in his spirit. In the corner now of the ring around the steel post, Monty Brown was stretching Christian around almost like a slingshot. Back in the ring, the meet again in the middle with Christian Cage now in control with ring hands and then a diving clothesline followed with forearms and a windup shot. Cage was feeling it, he put Monty into the corner and delivered several mid shot kicks and punches. Christian Cage then went for innovation with a swinging DDT, he now had a near fall of his own. Christian went back for a high-risk move as he sent Brown down and then went for a Frogsplash. That too received a near fall. Both men vow to become the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion, but first they have to win this match otherwise they’ll never reach that dream anytime soon. It was then Christian Cage who found the opportunity to deliver the turning point move in this match, the Unprettier. Christian Cage is the victor!

Winner: Christian Cage

TABLES MATCH:
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, AMERICA’S MOST WANTED (CHRIS HARRIS & JAMES STORM) vs. TEAM 3D (BROTHER RAY & BROTHER DEVON)

While the pyro for AMW was still going off, Team 3D jumped the gun and started this match on their own terms at the top of the ramp way. Brother Ray had James storm at the top of the ramp way, and then moving to ringside by Mike Tenay and Don West while Brother Devon was taking out his frustration on Chris Harris in the ring. Harris put the bakes to that however as he just held Brother Devon up in a vertical suplex allowing his blood to rush to his head before dropping him down. You must put both opponents through a table to win this match. Brother Ray now had Storm ready for Devon to say wazzzup from the top rope. The fans were electric; Brother Ray counted to three as the fans ordered Devon to get the table. Harris however took the table for himself and set it up in the corner, and just as they were sending Devon into the table, Ray dove and took his own partner down, saving him from the table shot. Devon was still in bad condition, he was in a precarious position as he was put onto the table with Harris going to the top rope. Brother Ray though took Harris and suplexed him. Storm though much to Harris’ luck, moved the table allowing Harris to only catch the ring mat. Brother Ray then continued as he has been doing all throughout the match with knife-edge chops on James Storm’s chest. He put Storm onto the table, but Storm went low with the punch and now did a hurricanrana. Ray though was lucky this time as well, Devon moved the table. AMW now signaled for the 3D finisher, they went for it, but Devon countered in mid air and hit a DDT on Storm. James Storm was then eliminated courtesy of the Death Sentence through a table by Team 3D. This one turned into a handicap match now for Chris Harris but he took this to the outside with Devon at the top of the ramp way to where this ended up back firing on him as Team 3D hit the 3D through a table for the victory in this Tables Match against the NWA World Tag Team Champions.

Winners: Team 3D

After the match we had a very serious moment concerning the safety of James Storm. It appeared he had suffered a neck injury from the Death Sentence he took through the table.

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH:
"THE PHENOMENAL" AJ STYLES (c) vs. "THE SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE" SAMOA JOE

AJ was going with full intensity right away in the corner with high impact shoulder blocks. He caught Samoa Joe off guard in the opening moments of this match, but Joe was able to gain some offense but AJ, inspired to protect the X-Division code, hit off an amazingly hard drop kick to Joe flipping him over. AJ was fierce, he was not going to take anything from Joe, but Joe was going to try and force AJ to give up with these vicious chops and kicks, they’re lethal for anyone that isn’t named AJ Styles right now. Samoa Joe now took AJ and swung him in like a merry-go-round as he then released him sending him head first into the steel guard rail. Joe then measured AJ and went at him full force like a speeding truck; he hit him with a big boot. Back into the ring, Samoa Joe was relentless, Joe with such force just landed with all his power onto AJ’s head with his knees. It looked like it was the beginning of the end for AJ Styles, his mouth was wide open as he was just trying to get some air into his body. Samoa Joe now went with his whole body from the ropes onto AJ’s stomach, lower back first. Joe now took a break with a headlock on AJ. AJ didn’t want any breaks though; he went with elbow shots to break it up. Joe however didn’t want to give up the offense; he sent AJ into the corner and stepped up for a knee shot to the head. Joe was the author of what was happening in this match, he just didn’t care at all, he was out to kill AJ. He took the stiffest shots at any price by any means necessary. AJ was then lying vulnerable as Joe was going to kick him, but AJ hit the Pelč. Moments later, AJ Styles took control by sending Samoa Joe up and over the rope to the outside as he was charging towards him. AJ pulled out all the stops, with a shooting star press running over the ropes, and then a superman like punch back inside to the back of Joe’s head. It was then an inverted DDT by Styles that lived to a near fall, but no three count for the champ. Joe was catching his breath to where he then hit a snap scoop slam. It was a miraculous kick out for The Phenomenal One. AJ then challenged Joe with all he had, and Joe gave him all he had with chops and kicks. Joe was then getting tired and that’s when AJ came back with his own shots. AJ received a sniff shot to the mouth during that encounter and was bleeding from the mouth, but he sucked it up and delivered one helluva powerbomb but that didn’t end the winning steak of Samoa Joe. AJ came to Joe and Joe did a clothesline that turned AJ insideout. Joe couldn’t believe that hd didn’t win it there. AJ was getting fired back up, Joe was confused, he couldn’t win. He hooked AJ back into a choke, with some head buts. It was another Pelč Kick from AJ Styles. This was in my opinion the best X-Division Title Match we have ever had in TNA history and now Samoa Joe tried setting up a Muscel Buster from the top rope but AJ turned it and went down with Joe and hit the Styles Clash, but Samoa Joe kicked out! Samoa Joe was not ready to surrender! The turning point was now, AJ Styles now rolled Joe up with a pin but Samoa Joe took AJ back into a Rear Naked Choke. AJ Styles never gave up, but he passed out! Samoa Joe is your new TNA X-Division Champion of the world!

Winner & NEW TNA X-Division Champion: Samoa Joe

After the match, it looked like Joe was going to set his differences aside and show some honor towards the X-Division by raising AJ’s arm. Instead, Joe took AJ down with a cheap shot with the X-Division Title. Samoa Joe was going to take AJ Styles out of action just like he did to Christopher Daniels at Genesis but Daniels wasn’t going to let that happen to AJ, he made his return down to the ring and took Joe off guard. Joe however targeted The Fallen Angel’s head as that right away shut him down due to his recent concussions from Joe.

It was now time for our main event of the evening.

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH:
"THE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN" JEFF JARRETT (c) vs. "THE WAR MACHINE" RHINO

The match began with Jarrett twisting and turning Rhino’s arm. Then Rhino broke it up and went with multiple shoulder blocks, which of course sent Jarrett down to the ground. There’s no way Jarrett can withstand on his own feet with a Man Beast of that fortitude coming towards him. Rhino then put Jarrett across the ropes and kicked him off sending him into the guardrail. Jarrett was taking all the abuse; then after Rhino went high risk with a cross body block over the ropes. And now we were heading out into the crowd. The crowd was Jarrett’s ground, he was giving some abuse to Rhino now; however, with the mindset Rhino was in, he took the pain and ignored it. He threw Jarrett into a steel wall, with the crowd approving that move by Rhino. Jeff Jarrett was now busted open, so they headed back to the ring. Rhino went with several shots to Jarrett’s head like a hammer. People in the crowd were then giving Rhino some steel chairs and he used them to even more physically hurt the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett. Now on the cameraman scaffold, both Jarrett and Rhino climbed up as Jarrett hit Rhino with a chair sending him all the way down through a table onto the concrete. That was a huge turning point for Jeff Jarrett in this match, he had total momentum now. Again though, Rhino took the pain and ignored him, he’s a beast. Rhino took a table and now set it up on the entrance ramp covering the tunnel. Jarrett then got up as Rhino measured him up and delivered the GORE to Jarrett right through the table into the entrance tunnel. The referee now ordered for both men to be in the ring by the count of 10 or this match will be over. Team Canada however came and ent Rhino back down the tunnel. Petey Williams and Eric Young carried Jarrett back into the ring as referee, Rudy Charlies continued the count and hit 9 but Rhino ran ight back in and dropped Jarrett with a fast clothesline and taking down Petey and Eric Young on the ring apron as well. They came back though like bugs, and Rhino again sent them out and continued on Jarrett now with a Spine Buster. It was a close pinfall. The referee now ordered that Petey Williams and Eric Young go back to the locker room area as this match continued. Rhino tried to spear Jarrett in the corner but instead hit the referee as he was now knocked out. Rhino then gave Jarrett a belly to belly suplex as the fans now chanted Gore. But it was now Bobby Roode who came in and then A1 who had himself Gored. Roode though measured and hit the Northern Lariat as Jeff Jarrett pinned with the referee back up and that my friends was a near fall. Rhino was still alive but wait, Jarrett now had a guitar. You could see Rhino though trying to get rid of that guitar but he was instead on the receiving end of it on the top rope but he kicked out of the pin! Now Jackie Gayda came and slapped Jarrett across the face to where Rhino then gave the Gore for one of the nearest falls ever! Jarrett was still the champion, and Rhino was still at war. Rhino positioned two chairs in the ring side by side and he was going to hit the Rhino Driver but it was Scott D’Amore with the hockey stick that hit Rhino in the leg and that turned things around as Jarrett then hit The Stroke for the win through the chairs for the win.

Winner & STILL NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett

The lights immediately went out and a scorpion was shown on the big screen. In the middle of the ring was now a chair with a baseball bat and trench coat. Could it be Sting coming to TNA Wrestling?!

We’ll see you everyone next Saturday at 11 PM ET at iMPACT! on SpikeTV!
