Ref still hiding & wife blows whistle on media

BRADENTON, Fla. - Tim Donaghy's wife has had it.

Fed up with the press camped outside the disgraced NBA referee's mansion here, she posted an angry note yesterday demanding that no one even wave hi to her.

"We have no comment. Period," Kimberly Donaghy wrote. "Please do not knock on our door, ring the bell or wave at us as if we intend to give you the comment that may improve your chances of 'moving up on the food chain.'"

By late yesterday, it appeared she, her hubby and four daughters had somehow slipped out of the house, and were in a secure location.

"He is in a safe place with friends and family," said pal Mike Wolf as he let himself into the house.

Donaghy, who resigned his job with the NBA when the probe became public, is expected to surrender later this month on federal gambling charges in Brooklyn.

He is alleged to have placed bets with mob-connected bookies on NBA games, including some he officiated.

All the attention may be pushing the ref over the edge, one friend said.

He fears talking on his cell phone because "someone might be listening," the pal said.
