Kiefer has reportedly struck a deal with the prosecuters in his DUI case. He will start an 18 day sentence on 21st December (his 41st Birthday) and complete the other 30 days somtime before 1st July. Although he will now face more prison time, it means that filming and production of 24 will not have to be shut down or interupted. Kiefer has apparantly suggested and agreed to this deal so the employees of Fox who work on 24 will not be affected. (edit) In September 2007, Kiefer was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving,
after a breath test showed him to be over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
After posting $25,000 bail he was released and will appear in court on
October 16 2007. (edit) Kiefer Sutherland is featured along with his daughters and grandson in the new Joyce Ostin photography book, Hollywood Dads. (edit) Kiefer used to be engaged to Julia Roberts. The wedding was called off three days before the decided date when Julia ran off to Europe with Jason Patric, Kiefer's co-star from The Lost Boys. In April 2007, Kiefer publicly stated that he forgives Roberts saying they were both "young and silly." He also added that he has yet to forgive Patric saying "We were friends. I never got a call." (edit) When Kiefer Sutherland appeared on Inside the Actors Studio in 2005, he was the first guest to be a child of a former guest. His father, Donald Sutherland, appeared on the show in 1998. Kiefer Sutherland: (admitting he ruined the release of his own action figure) ... They sent it to me for my approval. We took the doll out for a night ... We started torturing him around 11pm and by 2am we set him on fire in the parking lot. We got up the next day and there was just this puddle of wax. His clothes didn't burn, which I thought was pretty cool. Then I got a call the next day saying, 'Did you like the doll?' I said, 'Yeah, it was great.' And they said, 'Well OK, good, you've got to send it back to us because that was a prototype. It took the guy a year to make it.' I said, 'Well, let me look for it, I think I left it in the trailer.' This went on for about a week and then I had to just come clean. (edit) Kiefer Sutherland (on his father, Donald Sutherland): There are a lot of mannerisms that we share. It's an aspect of DNA that I find really spooky. (edit) Kiefer Sutherland (on his movies): There are a lot of movies I'd like to throw away. That's not to say that I went in with that attitude. Any film I ever started, I went in with all the hope and best intentions in the world, but some films just don't work. (edit) Kiefer Sutherland (on winning the 2001 Best Actor Golden Globe): My mind went totally blank and my body went numb. It was a very surreal moment....It was a great night. I admit I felt really cocky for about 24 hours, and then I had to go back to work. (edit) Kiefer Sutherland: I've made films that I've given all I had to, that no one has seen. The bottom line is I want to work and I want someone to enjoy it. (edit)
