The city of Tallahassee issued the following news release:
Mayor John Marks will formalize the City of Tallahassee's newest official sister city relationship with Mayor Itzhak Rochberger of the City of Ramat-Hasharon, Israel on Friday, March
Mayor Rochberger is a native of Ramat-Hasharon, and was elected to a five-year term in 2003. At Friday's ceremony, he will be joined by Mr. David Menashe, deputy city director of international relations for Ramat-Hasharon, and Mr. Eli Hadar, a businessman in the Israeli city and leader of the movement to establish the relationship with Tallahassee.
Ramat-Hasharon joins Sligo, Ireland and the Caribbean island of St. Maarten in having formal sister city agreements with Tallahassee. The City Commission approved the formation of the relationship with Ramat-Hasharon on January 25, and the Tallahassee Jewish Federation worked with their Israeli counterparts to bring the delegation to Tallahassee for the formal signing ceremony.
