Hello, tubers, and welcome to the latest edition of the Vine show. For a good time, press Play above. Then I'll fill you in on Lost, tell you which WWKer is guesting on Ugly Betty and have a little chat with Milo Ventimiglia about the future of Heroes, Peter Petrelli and, most important, his rug. (I'll tell you in Monday's chat why he was wearing it.) Enjoy!
After all the controversy, the massive recasting and a revolving door of show runners, Moonlight is finally here. What do you guys think? Is Jason Dohring appropriately employed on this show? Vote in the poll and then post your thoughts in the Comments below!
Dexter's back, baby! And if you're a fan of this kickass series, that is good cause to celebrate. (Though we hope you'll do so in a more responsible way than Dex would.)
Even if you missed last season, you must tune in Sunday at 9 p.m., because the Showtime serial-killer series is genuinely one of the best hourlong dramas anywhere on television, and the season premiere is not to be missed.
Among other things, the second-to-last scene is a corker: Not only does Dexter brush past a couple of real emotions, there's a Rita-related twist and an underwater discovery that sets the stage for the next 12 episodes.
If you're not familiar with Dexter Morgan already, he is a serial killer who walks among the rest of us, masquerading as a run-of-the-mill emotionally stunted forensics expert. The twist? He only kills other serial killers.
"He's only killing for the good of society," Julie Benz (Dex's girlfriend, Rita) explained during a recent visit to the set. "He's sort of like a modern-day Robin Hood, who kills for the rich and kills for the poor." Run that by Michael C. Hall (Dexter), and you hear, "The Robin Hood of Grim Reapers? That's good!" It is! It's so good.
As for what is in store for the rest of the season, according to Hall himself, "He's taken unique responsibility for his instincts. Because of his father's outside-the-box parenting style, he's targeting people who arguably deserve it. He's somewhat sympathetic—he takes care of the people in his life, or at least he tries to. But he's coming off something pretty tramautic, having [first season spoiler alert!] done his brother in. So, we'll see him reeling a bit over the course of the second season, but he'll get his mojo back." Does he ever!
Come back Sunday night to sound off in the Comments section below on what you thought of Dexter's premiere episode (and the twist!)...and on Monday, our Spoiler Chat will have even more Dexter dish.
She's outta there.
That's what I can tell you about Jorja Fox's status on CSI, the hit series that bested Grey's in the ratings last night.
As I mentioned on E! News on Wednesday (which you can see in the video clip below), reliable sources close to the show tell me Jorja will not be a part of CSI as of the seventh episode of the current season.
So, do not let the fact that Sara Sidle survived last night's premiere fool you. Jorja, who suffered a second round of contract-negotiation difficulties (she was fired and rehired back in '04), will not be sticking around.
(By the by, my frenemy at TV Guide, Michael Ausiello, reported a similar story this morning—citing November as Jorja's end date. So, if his sources and my sources are sayin' the same thing, well...I think we may be on to something!)
Now, the question for you fellow CSI fans is whether you see this as a good thing or a stomach-churningly terrible thing for the show. Personally, I'm going for the latter, because I love Sara and will miss her dearly, but I also know some of you were deeply irked by the Sara-Grissom romance.
Tell me what you think of Jorja's departure in the Comments below!
It's here! The moment Alias fans have all been waiting for: Michael Vartan is back on TV! What do you guys think—is Big Shots hot or not?
Check it out, then feel free to sound off with what you think of the Big boys in the Comments section below.
If you didn't get a shot to see Dirty Sexy Money or Big on Wednesday or Thursday on ABC, I've been asked to tell you that some kind of network called E! is airing them this Sunday, Sept. 30! Tune in at 5 p.m. to catch the E! network premiere of the Dirty Sexy Money pilot, and at 6 p.m. for the Big Shots pilot. In celebration (and because those Big and Dirty men are so fine), we put together a photo gallery of Michael and company.
And by the by, at press time, here are the current Save It standings. (Go, Josh Schwartz, it's your birthday!)

OMG, OMG, OMG. The best show on television finally returns tonight!
Yes, I know, Grey's Anatomy is still pretty darn awesome and also returns tonight—everyone knows that. But I must say, it's the return of Jim, Pam, Dwight, Angela, Michael and the rest of our beloved Dunder-Mifflin gang that really has me all atwitter.
I mean, for starters, tonight's premiere is an hour long. An hour freaking long! And we get four hourlong episodes in a row (as NBC tries to counterprogram the aforementioned ratings behemoth). And I just watched a promo reel for tonight's episode, which is just about the best thing I've seen in months.
So, in honor of the fast-approaching premiere hour, I am proud to bring you our First Annual Official E! Online Top Ten Things to Look Forward To in The Office Season Premiere:
Hot. Hot. Hot. Let me tell you, tuberinos, US Weekly’s annual Hot Hollywood party lived up to its name—and then some—last night.
Why so steamy? Well, let me drop a few names your way so you can feel the mercury rise: Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Levi, Zachary Quinto and... Audrina, Lauren, Whitney and Heidi from The Hills.
Okay, so those last names may have been a harsh splash of cold water for you non-Hills fans, but I assure you that the blue carpet went nutso when the Hills chicas arrived in all their scandalous, catfighting, plastic-surgery-touting glory. Whee! Love it.
Since some of you couldn't make it (what, you didn’t get my Evite?!), allow me to share with you what went down with our TV faves at the soiree...
Premiere week gains momentum tonight with four—count 'em, four—series premieres. And they're big'uns, too. At 9 p.m. is girl-power hour on ABC and NBC: Private Practice and Bionic Woman. And at 10 p.m. comes Peter Krause's return to series television in Dirty Sexy Money and the debut of Damian Lewis in Life.
By the way, I must remind you that after seeing the second episode of Life, I'm convinced it might ultimately be the surprise, breakout new fave of the season. It's that good. Definitely in the vein of House and Lewis is phenomenal. I hope you'll all watch and sound off on whether you like it!
I can't possibly be alone on this one, can I? Oh wait, that's right the Los Angeles Times also wrote the show a love letter to Life the other day. Yay!
Now, feel free to give your opinion on these four series in the poll and in the Comments below. Fire away!
Just a little giddy good news to help ring in the new season of Smallville, which starts tomorrow night.
Reliable insiders tell me—and the CW confirms—that James Marsters (swoon, Buffy's Spike) is returning for four episodes of the superseries during the new season.
We last saw Marsters's character, Dr. Milton Fine (aka Brainiac), in Smallville's fifth season finale.
While it's unclear exactly how James is returning, I can tell you he's reprising the exact same character, he's returning to set very soon and his episodes begin airing in January. He also appears on CBS' Without a Trace this season.
'Tis good news, no? If you're happy and you know it, sound off in the Comments section below!
And don't forget to tune in to Smallville tomorrow night.
So, what do you guys think of Tuesday's new shows? Is Cane sweet enough? What the devil do you think about Reaper? Do you love the latter as much as I do?
Remember, early buzz is critical for these shows, so sound off now—or kvetch and moan later!
So far, your fave Save It shows are Gossip Girl and Chuck, by large percentages, followed by (in order): Journeyman, Back to You, The Big Bang Theory, K-Ville and Kid Nation. Check out the percentages for yourself here and here, and then vote below to weigh in on tonight's two newbies!
