Adobe Appoints Former Intel Exec to Senior VP of Corporate Marketing and Communications

Ann Lewnes to Head Adobe’s Brand and Integrated Marketing Efforts Worldwide

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — Oct. 16, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today announced the appointment of Ann Lewnes as senior vice president of corporate marketing and communications. Lewnes previously served as Intel Corporation’s vice president of sales and marketing and director of partner marketing, which included responsibility for the “Intel Inside” program. Lewnes will join Adobe on Nov. 1, 2006 and will oversee Adobe’s corporate positioning, branding and identity, public relations, customer engagement marketing and vertical marketing efforts. She replaces Melissa Dyrdahl who has decided to leave the company to pursue her interest in social entrepreneurism.

Providing employees with 30-in. computer monitors can boost worker productivity at companies where 17- or 19-in. monitors are typically used, according to a French consultant hired for a study sponsored by Apple Computer Inc.

The study, which evaluated Apple’s 30-in. Apple Cinema Display, concluded that large screens can offer gains of up to 50% to 65% in productivity on a variety of specific office tasks and can earn back their extra costs in time savings over several years. The 30-in. display costs $1,999.

Feds Bust Craigslist Software Pirates

Three alleged software pirates face criminal copyright infringement charges for selling illegal copies of popular software titles on Craigslist. If convicted, the three New York-area men each face up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. All three are free on bail.
