Weblogs (Blogging) in ESL/EFL

new:
Will Richardson, a superviser of instructional technology and communications in New Jersey, has set up his own blog
http://www.weblogg-ed.com
dedicated to the use of blogs in the classroom. "The thing that immediately got me interested was the audience (real or imagined) and the fact that I could invite others into my conversation," he says. "The potential of an easy publishing space on the internet that was collaborative was pretty impressive."

"We were the first school in the country to study this book, so I asked the author if she would participate," says Richardson. Kidd obliged by answering questions and commenting on what the students had published. The blog

has since received over 200,000 visits and exists as a learning resource for others.

History:
A European Conference on Weblogs.
"What is a weblog? A weblog is a form and a format: a frequently updated website containing entries arranged in reverse-chronological order. But this simple form is infinitely malleable, and weblogs have huge potential for professional and private use. Easily maintained via computer or mobile devices, weblogs are organizing businesses, creating and strengthening social ties, filtering the World Wide Web, and providing a platform for ordinary people to publish their views to the world."
