SfN Membership Tops 38,000, Sets New Record
Earlier this week, SfN's membership total passed 38,000 members! The new total of 38,020 represents a 3.7% increase over the 2006 membership total (36,653) and a 1.2% increase over the previous record 2005 membership total (37,562).
This milestone is particularly noteworthy in the face of the continuing challenges to the field posed by constrained funding support for research from the US and other national government sources, and it attests to the continuing resilience, vitality and dynamism of neuroscientists and neuroscience. Friday, Oct. 5 is the last day to cancel hotel for Neuroscience 2007 reservations online. Apply for Membership by Friday, Oct. 12 to Receive Discounted Meeting Registration Rates
The deadline to apply for membership in time to receive discounted meeting registration rates for Neuroscience 2007 is Friday, Oct. 12. Lower member registration fees are available at www.sfn.org/registration. Registrants must receive a nine-digit membership identification number prior to attempting to register for the meeting at the reduced member rate.
